MTA ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY

Michigan Townships Association ("MTA," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of users of the MTA Online Learning Center (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information obtained through the Site. See Terms & Conditions for Definitions of Terms.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We also do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
By accessing or using the Site, creating an account, registering for courses or events, or otherwise providing information through the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site. It does not apply to information collected through other means except where specifically stated.

When you create an account, register for a webinar or course, purchase products or subscriptions, contact us, or otherwise interact with the Site, we may collect information including:

- Job title

- Any other information you voluntarily provide
Credit card information is processed through our third-party payment processor and is not stored by MTA.
We may also receive information about you from authorized third-party integrations or your employer or organization when they establish or administer your account.
Learning and Account Information

- Webinar attendance

- Quiz and assessment results

- Township Governance Academy (TGA) participation and progress
- Red Book Ready (RBR) participation and progress

- Maintain educational and certification records;

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their usernames and passwords. Sharing login credentials is prohibited. You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account.
YOUR CHOICES & ACCOUNT INFORMATION
You may review and update certain information in your account profile at any time. If your account was created through your township, organization, or a third-party integration, certain profile fields may not be editable. If you wish to close your account or request correction of your personal information, please contact us using the information below. Certain educational records, payment records, certification records, or other information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS
We may send service-related communications including:
- Registration confirmations
- Course reminders
- Password reset messages
- Subscription renewal notices
- Technical notifications
- Educational program updates
These communications are necessary to administer your account and participation in MTA Online. If you receive other MTA communications and wish to adjust your communication preferences, please contact [email protected].
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Site is intended for adult users involved in township government and related organizations. It is not directed to children under the age of 13, and MTA does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

DO NOT TRACK
Some web browsers offer "Do Not Track" signals. At this time, the Site does not respond differently to such signals. Users may control cookies through their browser settings, although doing so may affect Site functionality.
